I am a highly trained Clinical Psychologist and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist based in the Byron Bay Hinterland. I have a personalised, modern, psychoanalytic approach to work with you in a thoughtful, compassionate, insightful, and tuned in way, to enable anxieties to be quelled and bring clarity to your relationships, who you are, and the direction of your growth and development.
I have previously worked in both public and private mental health settings including, the psychodynamically-oriented Fremantle Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), selected as part of the first team at WA’s first Statewide outpatient eating disorders service at The Centre for Clinical Interventions, worked as a private practitioner at Fremantle Clinical Psychology, and as an independent private practitioner at the highly regarded psychodynamically-oriented, child, adolescent, couples, and family private practice clinic in Sydney, Calliope.
My current work focuses on helping self-actualising adults who have lost their peace and life flow for many reasons, including, family troubles, relationship and communication difficulties, work problems, and loss of self connection and life direction.
I love working with anyone who is willing to do the work, invest in themselves, and open to receive (sometimes painful) insights, knowledge, and guidance to develop clarity and find their own answers to troubling questions like: Who am I? Where am I going? Should I stay or leave this relationship? What is going to happen to me? Everyone on their journey is welcome. Confidentiality, is of course, guaranteed.
I have been educated and nurtured by internationally recognised psychoanalysts, most notably, the late Neville Symington, impressively astute Perth colleagues trained by the late Nancy Stewart (who was trained by Anna Freud in the 1950s), and Sydney and Melbourne analysts who received their infant observation supervision by the pioneer, Esther Bick. I am dedicated to life-long learning and I continue to have weekly psychoanalytic supervision. I have a curious, soulful, hungry mind. I love juicy conversations and take an avid interest in politics, nature, climate change, sociology, art, poetry, and anything that expands my ever growing interest in life.
